‘I’ve seen the life affirming effect of bringing positive poetry and nature into people’s minds and I think the world needs more of it.
Since finally finding the courage to share my poems, I never expected the amount of encouragement I got from complete strangers to write more, I never anticipated feeling so strongly that if we can make one person’s day better by boosting wonder and sharing hope, then why not try and reach out to more?
Since doing so, I’ve met so many like-minded souls all who share the same belief that whilst life may not be perfect, you can make a bad day better by choosing to seek beauty from nature.
Why poetry?
My pencil has always been a symbol of adventure to me; over the past 15 years I’ve followed my innate curiosity all over the globe as a journalist and senior copywriter writing for global brands. I still write professionally today, but for me, writing poetry as Golden Birdie is where I can be free.
